Welcome to the snowflake page of the Honeybear web site. My name is Fran Krohn. My friend Linda has graciously offered to let my put my bit in her site. I have been cutting snowflakes since 1963, when my first grade teacher showed me how to fold the paper correctly to achieve a 6 pointed snowflake. I was hooked. My siblings and I used to create paper snowstorms in our living room, anticipating the first snow of winter. Since I grew up in Eugene, OR, that first snow often didn't make much of a show, if it ever came at all. Those snowflakes filled a perceived need in our young lives.

I really became passionate about cutting snowflakes after high school. I figured out that I could cut an incredible variety of shapes, and the simple craft has provided decorations for many windows and Christmas trees. It's always a treat to hear from friends that still have the snowflakes I cut for them 20 years ago.

The snowflakes are wonderful hung from threads in a window or on a Christmas tree where small breezes set them dancing. They can be used to embellish scrap book pages, to give an extra fancy flair to gift wrapping, or as a special effect on a homemade card. Your imagination is the limit. I hope you will share the many creative uses you find for them with the rest of us.

You can get them in two ways. You can make your own, or if you don't have time you can have me make them for you!

To learn to make your own, order The Snowflake Kit (pictured top right). The kit is available for $12.00. Be sure to specify which snowflake template (pictures on left) you would like to receive with your kit. If you would like more than one template, additional templates may be purchased for $3.00 each.

Precut snowflakes (pictured right) are available on request, my time allowing. They are available in three formats. Page A contains four 4" snowflakes, and three smaller ones. Page B contains two each of 5 1/2", 3", and 2 1/2" snowflakes. These two pages sell for $8.00 each. Page C contains six each of the 3" and 2 1/2" snowflakes. This page sells for $10.00. Designs will vary from what is shown here, because I cut every snowflake without a pattern. If there is a general pattern you prefer, (see samples on this page) let me know and I will make yours similar.
